What you’ll do:


As a Lecturer (Medical Laboratory Science), you will play a critical role in the delivery of programs within our Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science and related health programs, including internal and external accreditation. You will make a significant contribution to the development, delivery and expansion of the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science program.  Reporting to the Head of School and Dean, you will be required to:

  • deliver courses in transfusion science and haematology via lectures, tutorials and workshops on-campus and online incorporating contemporary approaches to pedagogy;
  • supervise students completing honours and/or postgraduate coursework and research projects; and
  • undertake research and secure external grant funding and publication of quality peer-reviewed research outputs.


What will help you succeed:


Your extensive industry experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist together with your record of teaching excellence, will be pivotal to your success in this role.  Additionally, you will have:

  • a relevant tertiary qualification with significant progress towards or completion of a higher degree;
  • extensive and demonstratable clinical laboratory experience;
  • ability to lead the ongoing development, teaching and management of relevant pathology disciplines;
  • established relationships with government instrumentalities, other universities, public or private pathology providers; and
  • a record of research engagement and outputs in a speciality area within medical laboratory science along with a focused research plan and potential to engage with others in team-based research.


You will work with a growing and diverse team while building strong industry linkages to develop and deliver a contemporary and relevant teaching program with positive student outcomes.

Total remuneration range $119,401 to $141,128 pa (includes salary range of $100,888 to $119,246 pa, employer superannuation contributions up to 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
