Level B – $114,645 – $136,136 p.a. plus 17% super

About the Role
Lead the charge in transforming education at graduate levels, pioneering innovative teaching methods, crafting bespoke educational programmes, and spearheading impactful projects. Provide invaluable support to pre-service teachers in schools and early childhood settings, fostering a seamless integration of theory and practical application. With a focus on establishing and disseminating influential scholarship, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of Science Education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials and seminars, including executive, online, blended and flexible delivery methods
  • Initiation, development, and review of curriculum
  • Coordinating subjects as required, including supervision of sessional teaching staff and the development of a staffing plan
  • Establishing and maintaining a relevant and impactful scholarship in the field of Science Education. Disseminating scholarship in peer reviewed journals, scholarly books, and other appropriate outlets
  • Proactive contribution to the broader University and the discipline through appropriate leadership and service opportunities

Who We Are Looking For
You are an experienced Lecturer with a deep-seated passion and expertise in Science Education, complemented by your ongoing pursuit or attainment of an advanced degree in the field. Your rich teaching experience reinforces your ability to effectively supervise, guide and mentor, ensuring a seamless transition between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the learning journey.

You will have:

  • Qualifications that meet requirements for professional registration as a teacher
  • A PhD or research doctorate in a relevant discipline (completed or near completion)
  • Knowledge of contemporary theoretical and policy debates and practice within science education
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and contribute to science education focused projects
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to course or subject development, undertake subject coordination duties, and provide specialised support to students on placement
  • A current Victorian Working With Children Check (WWCC) by the commencement of the teaching period
