  • Salary: Level B $109,074 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role

You will be responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of courses within the Academic Unit’s undergraduate programs and contributing to the Academic Unit’s research agenda in the area of property and real estate practice. You will contribute independently and as part of a team to support the Academic Unit’s teaching and research outcomes and to carry out activities to maintain and develop their scholarly, research and/or professional activities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver courses on campus, offshore, online or via other appropriate methods
  • Provide academic leadership to support the Academic Unit’s and University’s teaching and learning initiatives in ways that will enhance the student experience and ensure UniSA graduates are the preferred employees of industry
  • Work collaboratively and reciprocally with staff in other Academic Units and relevant partner organisations to ensure that courses contain quality content which represents contemporary practice and theory
  • Contribute to research and scholarly activity, independently and/or as a member of a team, which results in quality publications in both academic refereed and professional journals and the presentation of conference papers and seminars

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Relevant doctoral degree 
  • Skills in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment with a demonstrated capacity and commitment to high quality, flexible teaching and learning outcomes, in both traditional and contemporary modes of delivery
  • Current and relevant knowledge of developments in the discipline (defined as property, real estate, land economics or urban development) informed by continuing scholarship and/or continuing industry engagement
  • Demonstrated commitment to establishing a program of research that highlights experience in writing for publication, and involvement in the preparation of research grant applications and success in attracting research income commensurate with opportunity
  • Experience in the supervision of honours and higher degree students to completion. 
  • Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal ability, written and oral communication skills and the capacity to work as a member of a diverse team 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop course materials and educational publications, as well as deliver presentations at seminars/conferences
  • High level administrative and organisational skills including demonstrated experience using information systems that support online learning and course administration

Desirable
  • An emerging record of contribution to teaching and scholarship, theory and practice
  • Ability to develop and maintain links with the wider academic and business community
  • Established property industry network of high-level connections
  • Designation as a certified property valuer, as defined by the Australian Property Institute, or eligibility to acquire such certification
  • A developing research interest in PropTech or related area of data analytics with relevance to property and/or business studies
