About the opportunity

The School of Paramedicine is looking for a lecturer to join their team at our Rozelle campus in Sydney.  The University of Tasmania is proud to have the first School of Paramedicine in Australia and prides itself on excellence in teaching and research, working closely with the local health system to provide paramedic and postgraduate education.  With campuses in both Hobart and Sydney, our team produce excellent clinicians and future health leaders through higher education.

As our new Lecturer in Paramedicine, you will deliver contemporary high-quality teaching, develop innovative and evidence-based distinctive content and be responsible for the coordination of units. Through your knowledge and expertise, you will teach within the postgraduate and undergraduate Paramedicine courses and will have digital capability to develop and enhance high quality learning experiences.

What you’ll do:

  • Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities through the College of Health and Medicine.
  • Undertake contemporary scholarly teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
  • Coordinate units and develop strategically aligned course and unit content.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainable transformative professional stakeholder partnerships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

What we’re looking for:

  • Registration with the Paramedicine Board of Australia.
  • A degree in Paramedicine, or in a relevant discipline, with significant relevant clinical experience as a paramedic.
  • Demonstrated experience in university-level learning and teaching including the development of online learning.
  • Proven experience in developing transformative professional partnerships and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated student-centred learning and teaching philosophy.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $147,083 comprising base salary within the range of $108,285 to $125,712 plus 17% superannuation.
