  • Based in the UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance Unit and the City East campus
  • Part-time (0.5 FTE), fixed term contract until 20 November 2025
  • Commencement Salary: $93,165 (level A) or $104,838 (level B) pro rata per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role 

This position is responsible for contributing to the teaching, scholarship and professional activities of the Allied Health and Human Performance Unit. The role will coordinate and teach in the Medical Sonography discipline, however, due to an increased focus on multidisciplinary teaching, the position may be required to work with multidisciplinary student groups. The Lecturer utilises contemporary professional/discipline-related knowledge in their teaching practice and carries out activities to develop scholarly expertise.

The UniSA Allied Health and Human Performance Academic Unit offers a wide range of degrees and conducts research in the fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, medical radiation sciences, medical sonography, speech pathology, clinical exercise physiology, exercise and nutrition, health sciences, public health, exercise and sport science, and human movement.

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Medical Sonography, together with accreditation with the Australia Sonographer Accreditation Registry
  • Demonstrated ability to provide teaching and supervision of Medical Sonography students and ability to actively engage and educate a student group

ACADEMIC LEVEL A

  • Clinical practice experience as a Medical Sonographer
  • Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal ability, written and oral communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a diverse team
  • High level administrative and organisational skills

ACADEMIC LEVEL B

  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent industry/discipline experience in Medical Sonography
  • Clinical practice experience and leadership as a Medical Sonographer
  • Demonstrated commitment to continual professional and personal development
