About the College of Medicine and Public Health
At the College of Medicine and Public Health, we deliver clinical, population and lab-based research, integrated teaching programs and high-quality clinical services. About the Role
The Lecturer in Indigenous Health will contribute to excellence in teaching and learning in Indigenous Health in the Doctor of Medicine course as well as in the Paramedicine course Practice as part of the teaching team. This position will be responsible for making an independent contribution to teaching and the scholarship of teaching using innovations in practices and technologies to deliver excellence.
The filling of this position is intended to constitute a special/equal opportunity measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth), and s 65 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA) The position is therefore only open to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people.
About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Doctorate in a relevant field or equivalent experience and standing in the field
- Capacity to contribute to curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities
- Sustained excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level
- Understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research and scholarship
- Evidence of an independent and innovative contribution to the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies both in the classroom and in clinical education, including student assessment
- Experience in coordinating and/or leading the activities of other staff (desirable).
