About the Role

The Lecturer in Critical Care Nursing will lead the teaching program, curriculum design and delivery, and evaluation of the Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing. Within a broad team of educators, this position works collaboratively with key stakeholders to translate contemporary knowledge and research evidence in critical care to student learning and specialty nursing practice. This position offers opportunity to deliver content in various modes, with the overarching goal of developing and implementing strategies to foster student engagement in both online work and work-integrated learning settings.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating a proactive reflexive teaching practice seeking guidance from senior teaching staff and student feedback
  • Applying contemporary pedagogical insights to teaching practice, including those specific to the discipline of nursing
  • Participating in the Department of Nursing and Melbourne School of Health Sciences strategic activities by engaging in the translation of research evidence in the discipline

Who We Are Looking For

To be suitable for this role you must be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). In addition to this you should hold a Master of Advanced Nursing Practice or equivalent, and a specialty qualification in critical care nursing, with current experience in this specialty. Your passion for teaching and clinical education will place you in good stead for success in this position. As a part of this role, you will have opportunity for career development by way of study, and receiving professional development, support, and mentorship to develop and progress your academic career.

You will also have:

  • A Master of Advanced Nursing Practice or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) and work collaboratively.
  • Experience in the development and evaluation of innovative curriculum for health professionals.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
