About The Role:

This role is primarily focused on teaching and learning within Curtin Law School. The Lecturer will engage in activities to enhance scholarly endeavours and maintain a commitment to high-quality, effective teaching practices. The role also involves integrating research, scholarship, and/or professional practice into teaching activities, as well as fostering a culture of teaching innovation.

The incumbent is expected to have a solid understanding of the student learning experience, with a growing profile in teaching, service, and leadership. The role may involve leading or coordinating the work of other staff members and requires a comprehensive knowledge of the law discipline.

Essential Requirements of the Role:

  • A doctoral qualification in Law discipline (or equivalent accreditation and professional standing for Teaching Focused Clinical Professional role).
  • Demonstrated high-level teaching skills and a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching delivery.
  • A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
  • An emerging record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
  • Demonstrated experience/capacity to undertake unit coordination.
  • Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal and organisational skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the application of relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
