About This Opportunity 

You will support academic staff across the UQ Business School with the design, development, uptake and evaluation of approaches to teaching, technologies and resources for learning, and pedagogies to enhance teaching quality and support students in the University’s courses and programs, including non-award programs.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  • Provide leadership in innovative and successful pedagogical approaches and technologies that support program transformation and ensure quality student experiences.

  • Advise and assist UQ Business School academic and professional staff to design, develop, implement and evaluate learning experiences, resources, tools and processes that support student learning, with a focus on online, active and blended learning.

  • Design, develop and manage strategic teaching and learning projects, in collaboration with the learning design team and key stakeholders.

  • Ensure high quality learning experiences for students by providing professional development and best practice exemplars to academic staff. 

  • Contribute to and participate in Faculty learning design projects as required.

This is a full-time continuing position.

At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $96,649.64 - $105,244.58, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $113,080.08 - $123,136.15 annually.  As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.


About You  

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with education or training and experience in designing learning.

  • An understanding of how students learn and evidence of innovative approaches to designing and developing courses, activities or assessments for online, blended learning or classroom environments that promote student learning.

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems at student or designer levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, to manage time and projects and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Exceptional oral, interpersonal and written communication skills including the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • The ability to provide both leadership and practical support on pedagogic and technical issues to a variety of stakeholders.

  • Commitment to on-going professional development.
