About This Opportunity 

Are you passionate about shaping the future of medical education? Do you thrive on innovation and collaboration? We're looking for a dynamic Learning Designer to join our esteemed Medical School team.

As a Learning Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in revolutionising our curriculum, assessments, and teaching methodologies. Working closely with academic staff, you'll spearhead the development of active and flexible pedagogies that elevate the learning experience for our students.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Advise and support academic staff in designing, implementing, and evaluating pedagogical, curriculum, and assessment approaches for both online and face-to-face learning environments.

  • Contribute to streamlining teaching activities by identifying and designing tools, processes, and templates that emphasise effective curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment.

  • Collaborate with academic staff to design assessment artifacts and data management processes that ensure assessment quality, data integrity, and support reliable student progression decisions, while also managing educational projects and building relationships with stakeholders to enhance the learning outcomes of the Doctor of Medicine program.

This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 12 months.

At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $96,649 - $105,244, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $113,080 - $123,136 annually As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.

About You  

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant academic discipline with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; ideally in Education or Instructional Design field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • An understanding of how students learn and evidence of innovative approaches to designing and developing courses, activities, or assessments for online, blended learning or classroom environments that promote and foster student learning.

  • An understanding of authentic assessment and experience in designing assessment for, of and as learning.

  • Ability to provide both leadership and practical support on pedagogic and technical issues to a variety of stakeholders.

  • Experience using a range of technologies applicable to online learning, such as learning management systems, video editing and or recording, and their application to educational goals.

  • Demonstrated commitment to on-going professional development.
