About This Opportunity 

Under the overarching guidance of the Manager Learning Design and in collaboration with the Professor of Indigenous Education, this role concentrates on Indigenizing the Curriculum. It involves designing curriculum, assessments, and adaptable pedagogies to improve teaching quality across courses and programs, while also assisting academic staff in implementing similar strategies university-wide.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Collaborate with schools to integrate Indigenous perspectives into the curriculum.

  • Provide leadership in applying Indigenous pedagogy to course development, aiming to enhance student learning, and offering guidance to academic staff.

  • Assist in developing a professional learning suite for Indigenizing the curriculum across the University.

  • Develop and provide appropriate learning resources, engaging with the Learning Design Community of Practice to share practices and innovations.

  • Contribute to the development of tools and processes to streamline teaching services, emphasizing effective curriculum and assessment design.

  • Stay updated on current practices and future opportunities in teaching and learning, sharing knowledge across the university community.

About You

The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.

You will have;

  • Degree completion or an Advanced Diploma with at least 4 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination.

  • Expertise in developing online and on-campus resources with a focus on Indigenous studies and knowledge, complemented by a commitment to ongoing professional development.

  • Ability to provide leadership and practical support in traditional and technology-enabled approaches to curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment for diverse stakeholders.

  • Proven capability in prioritizing tasks through effective time and project management, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing and delivering professional learning using indigenous knowledge and appropriate technologies for learning and teaching.

  • Commitment to addressing client needs through strong teamwork and communication skills.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
