As Laboratory Coordinator, you will provide high-level support to several laboratories within the Precision Medicine Research Program and Cancer Detection and Therapy Program.

This position requires strong organisational skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate safety measures including the induction of lab members, laboratory inspections, and ensuring the safe storage of chemicals.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory functionality by ensuring materials are properly stocked, and equipment is well-maintained and adheres to safety standards.
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication, especially when dealing with cross-lab issues that may arise.

This fixed term position is part time (0.6 FTE), is until February 2025, and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).


How will you inspire us?

  • Demonstrated experience in the coordination of biology (or similar) laboratories, including the ability to stay organised and provide high-level support to researchers.
  • Strong commitment and understanding of safety practices and requirements in a laboratory setting.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $77,858 to $90,316 pro rated + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to participate in a team environment demonstrating clear communication and mutual respect. 
  • Ability to embrace change in response to new initiatives, strategic direction, or external requirements.
