In this role you'll collaborate with a wide array of experts within Digital Technology Solutions, fostering invaluable connections and expanding your professional network.

You’ll also gain hands-on experience with over 250 software products and their associated terms and conditions, enriching your knowledge base and skill set. In addition, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that approvals for software purchases, renewals, and contracted IT services meet procurement guidelines and are achieved promptly. Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert advice on IT vendor management to internal stakeholders
  • Developing, maintaining, and implementing the vendor management framework aligned with strategy
  • Creating and reviewing contract terms, SOWs, guidelines, and procedures
  • Preparing tender documentation, vendor performance reports, and contract negotiation plans
  • Driving process improvement initiatives to optimize the vendor management portfolio
  • Developing vendor relationship health tracking systems and tools
  • Identifying opportunities for resource spending optimization through contract consolidation and negotiation
  • Analysing reports on vendor performance and provide expert advice to senior management 

This continuing position is full time at a HEW 7 Higher Education Level and will be based at Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land)

  • Relevant degree with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in IT vendor management; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated experience in the procurement of IT goods and services, contract management and effective vendor relationships
  • Proven track record of providing expertise in IT vendor management to senior leaders
  • Commitment to the continual improvement in service delivery and implementing best practice
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to analyse data and produce reports on vendor performance / activities to inform decision making
  • Desirable Experience

  • Strong IT background, including an understanding of technical IT concepts - IT infrastructure, system integration, databases, etc.
