  • Base Salary from $95,860 + 17% superannuation

Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.   

We are seeking an Innovation Engineer with a background on Mechatronic, Mechanical, Electrical or Robotic background to design and manufacture prototypes for biomanufacturing and medical devices.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • develop and deploy engineering solutions and execute testing of various prototypes

  • provide technical expertise and offer solutions for issues in engineering related biomanufacturing and medical device development aspects

  • contribute to multiple process automation projects, identify process improvements and support the development of project management methodologies

  • implement project governance and identify and mitigate risks

  • manage project communications and conduct information sessions to keep stakeholders informed

  • take the lead in handling stakeholder communications, ensuring that concerns are addressed effectively and timely while fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within the work area and beyond

  • facilitate timely report submission, uphold data integrity according to university systems, and partner with managers to advance compliance initiatives.

About you

  • bachelor degree or higher in a relevant field

  • experience in delivering technical solutions

  • experience in developing and delivering of automation and innovation programs

  • experience in prototype development

  • extensive technical knowledge across a large number of applicable engineering domains; i.e. skills and experience in electrical, mechanical and software engineering design, demonstrated skills in electrical, software and mechanical fabrication as well as a demonstrated ability to lead diverse project teams

  • interdisciplinary engineering proficiency, including fluid mechanics and materials engineering knowledge

  • strong project management and research skills.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
