About the team
The UWA Data Institute (DI) serves as a gateway for data-intensive industries and government agencies to access UWA’s expertise in applied data science and the ethical, socially acceptable use of data. By leveraging UWA’s extensive cross-disciplinary expertise and industry sector networks, the Institute addresses real-world challenges by transforming diverse data into actionable knowledge for data-driven decision-making.

About the opportunity
As the Industry Engagement Manager, you will develop and manage external engagement initiatives and support major academic-industry research collaborations. You will strengthen research collaborations, lead and implement the institute’s engagement strategy, analyse and report on industry trends, identify partnership opportunities, and develop events to foster collaboration. Additionally, you will build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and support management with briefings on engagement activities.

About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess a relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency, along with substantial industry experience and expertise in industry engagement across various sectors. You should be skilled in developing and deploying project management best practices, policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring quality outcomes within tight timeframes. Additionally, you should be capable of contributing effectively to long-term planning and strategic direction with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills for strategy implementation. Your ability to identify key stakeholders and establish influential relationships to achieve desired outcomes will also be essential.

Note: Occasional interstate travel may be required.
