About the Role
The Industry Engagement Manager at the Victorian Medtech Skills and Device Hub (VMH) leads efforts to align VMH programs with the needs of Victoria's medical device industry. They connect stakeholders, organise events, and develop targeted initiatives in collaboration with project directors and university partners. Strong communication and strategic planning skills are essential for success in this role, which involves ensuring compliance with reporting obligations and fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively seek out opportunities to strengthen industry links and foster sustainable industry partnerships with the Victorian Medtech Skills and Device Hub. This includes links with multinational companies, small-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups.
  • Organise and coordinate outreach activities and events to facilitate and strengthen industry engagement with the VMH.
  • Support in-bound enquiries from Medtech companies that have specific requests pertaining to establishment or expansion of manufacturing in Victoria, with a particular initial focus on skills and talent.
  • Identify skills gaps in the Victorian Medtech industry, facilitate the implementation of industry-partnered opportunities and promote existing high-quality offerings.

Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate exhibits excellent interpersonal skills, collaborates effectively in teams, and builds strong connections with stakeholders across academia, industry, and government. They possess exceptional written communication skills for report and material writing, coupled with high-level problem-solving abilities and the initiative to engage industry stakeholders to foster partnerships and identify skills gaps in the Victorian Medtech sector.

You will also have:

  • A relevant university degree with subsequent relevant experience in an educational institution and/or industry, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, educational training or extensive experience in management and strategic planning
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team and develop strong links with stakeholders from academia, industry and government.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and respond efficiently to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write reports and communication materials.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
