About the role

We are currently on the lookout for a Head of Capability, Inclusion, and Leadership to lead our journey towards exceptional leadership, inclusive excellence, and transformative learning experiences for our exceptional staff.

As the Head of Capability, Inclusion, and Leadership, you will be at the forefront of cultivating a culture of leadership excellence, inclusivity, and continuous learning. Your strategic vision and guidance will shape the future of our workforce. You will lead teams that drive capability and leadership, Inclusion diversity, equity and access and First Peoples workforce development. You will also play a vital role in driving key priorities across the broader People function at RMIT.
 

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Leadership and Team Development: Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to the Capability, Inclusion, and Leadership team. Establish clear directions, prioritise effectively, and foster an environment of continuous development and recognition.
  • Capability and Leadership Management: Oversee the entire capability and leadership lifecycle at RMIT, from needs analysis to the evaluation and continuous improvement of impactful learning experiences. Ensure our programs not only meet but exceed the evolving needs of our community.
  • Integration of Responsible Practice and IDEA: Champion the integration of responsible practice, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA), embedding RMIT values into learning experiences to uplift our strategic capabilities.
  • Implementation of Frameworks: Lead the charge in implementing RMIT’s IDEA framework and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment plan, actively contributing to our vision for an inclusive and diverse future.

To be successful you will have

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, efficiently coordinating resources, processes, systems, people, and policies to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in at least two of the following OD specialties: learning and capability development, leadership strategy, models, and inclusion, diversity, equity, and access.
  • Clear commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access and First Peoples workforce development, with experience integrating principles into HR processes and capability development.
  • Track record of designing capability build programs to drive positive employee experiences and achieve behavioral changes for organizational success.
