About the opportunity

As our successful candidate, you will work within the Business Analysis team and be responsible for the Government Reporting portfolio. managing the production and reporting of student and related data to  the Commonwealth government and other internal and external stakeholders.

You will develop an expert knowledge of data requirements, business processes, and student systems and provide guidance on data governance elements to ensure the University’s compliance with legislative requirements.

As part of your role, you will collaborate with business areas across the University to investigate and resolve issues, identify opportunities for improvement, prototype and test configuration changes, and monitor future software releases relevant to the portfolio.

What you’ll do:

  • Managing the production and reporting of student and related data to the Commonwealth government and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of current and future data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain relevant student lifecycle documentation in the University’s repository of academic administrative processes and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to business areas on government and other data collection/reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvements, leveraging current and future functionality.
  • Effectively communicate and facilitate discussions with stakeholders to identify opportunities, deliver training and presentations, discuss new processes, and negotiate resolution of issues.
  • Examine and assess system changes, including configuration adjustments, test creation, and programming modifications to improve business processes responding to changing laws, business demands, software updates, and University policies.
  • Perform restricted or advanced system operations in consultation with the assigned student lifecycle portfolio areas.

­What we’re looking for:

  • A degree from a recognised higher education institution with experience as a Business Analyst, or an equivalent level of expertise gained through a combination of experience and/or education/training.
  • A detail-orientated and a problem solver – you are analytical and a critical thinker who loves to solve problems. You have comfort working through ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • A team player - with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organisation.
  • A great communicator – you can distil and articulate complexity in a simple way for different levels of stakeholders.
  • Broad knowledge of academic administrative business processes within a university environment relating to the student lifecycle.
  • Prior experience with Student Management systems would be an advantage.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $123,548 comprising base salary within the range of $96,071 to $105,597 plus 17% superannuation.
