We are seeking a Fund Accountant to join CSIRO’s Finance Team and support the effective provision of CSIRO’s Innovation Fund and Main Sequence activities.
As the Fund Accountant, you’ll be responsible for providing accurate and high-quality financial accounting services. This may include preparing financial statements and management reports, monthly financial accounting activities, compliance and regulatory activities and investor reporting.

Your duties will include:
  • Maintaining and reporting on accurate accounting records in SAP, Xero and Fundwave. 
  • Contributing to the venture capital fund process by managing capital calls and management fees, distributions, investor transfers, and processing investment payments.
  • Providing support to the preparation of quarterly financial data, financial accounts and semi-annual financial statements for investment funds and management companies, including management of the annual audit process.
  • Contributing, under direction, to the Australian and USA tax processes and the investment valuation process. 
  • Ensuring contractual, regulatory and statutory compliance in regard to financial matters.
  • Other duties as directed.

Location: Open to candidates in Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne or Sydney

Salary: AU$93k - AU$105k pa (pro-rata for part-time) plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Tenure: Specified term of 12 months, Full-time (Part-time negotiable)

To be considered you will need:
  • A tertiary qualification in accounting, or finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong technical skills in financial analysis and reporting software (e.g. Excel, Xero, Fundwave)
  • Experience in preparing, delivering and managing financial accounting transactions, reconciliations and reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and relevance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


Desirable

  • Prior experience in, or knowledge of, venture capital in an accounting context.
  • Exhibit a natural inclination to leverage technology for automating accounting tasks, with experience in utilising automation tools, ideally within financial services or funds management.
