This role is based in Finance, within the Operations Division at UNSW
This role sits within the Finance Business Partnering function at UNSW. The team is dedicated to delivering end-to-end finance services to our Faculties and Divisions and operates as central and trusted source for financial guidance and services.
This role reports to the Finance Business Partner for the area and manages a team of finance professionals.
Why your role matters:
The Finance Manager partners with stakeholders to deliver financial management and analysis to aide important decision making at UNSW. Working as part of the wider Finance Business Partnering function, you will manage a team providing end to end finance services including financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting in your area, autonomously overseeing the day to day handing of the business operations of your team.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage overall financial operations of the Faculty/Division you are assigned.
- Ensure budgets are managed, variances analysed and risks mitigated in a timely manner.
- Provide compelling analyses, delivering actionable insights and recommendations.
- Identify, report and manage financial risks and opportunities.
- Lead the financial planning, forecasting and management reporting processes.
Who you are:
- CA/CPA or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in higher education highly beneficial.
- Strong leadership experience, able to mentor, develop and motivate a team.
- Extensive experience in complex financial management and control processes.
- Highly advanced communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience providing actionable operational advice and delivering financial services.
- An analytic thinker with ability or problem solve against a deadline whilst still ensuring high quality output.
