Offer Description
  • Full-time, 1-year Fixed Term position with a possibility of extension
  • Salary Academic Level B ($105,548 - $125,341) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About the Role

The Research Fellow will conduct fundamental and applied research focused on power electronics technology to support novel direct photovoltaic solar to thermal energy storage. The Research Fellow will work with research teams and partnerships in the School and Research Institutes. The Research Fellow is required to undertake research activities in line with the University's research strategy. The position will carry out independent and/or team research which has a significant impact in the area of their specialisation and be acknowledged at a national level as being influential in expanding the knowledge of their relevant discipline.

To be successful in this position, you will:

  • Undertake research and development activities in power electronic systems for direct photovoltaic solar thermal heating systems.
  • Prepare research grant applications, particularly targeting Category 1 outcomes.
  • Prepare high profile research publications as lead or co-author.
  • Develop proof of concept technology ready for commercialisation
