The Faculty of Health Sciences comprises three schools: Allied Health, Behavioural and Health Sciences, and Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine. There are currently approximately 14,000 students (EFTSL) and 530 (FTE) staff in the Faculty under the disciplines: occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, exercise science, exercise physiology, nutrition science, biomedical science, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, physiotherapy, psychology and public health.

The Faculty Research Manager will contribute to strategic planning and help ensure that the Faculty's day-to-day operations support the strategic goals in research. This position will also provide high level support related to research development, outputs, impact, and enterprise, including developing systems, managing processes, and providing advice to staff.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Contributing to strategic and operational planning, together with the Executive Dean and Associate Dean (Research), to enhance the Faculty's research.
  • Leading the development and implementation of systems and processes to support research excellence and reporting.
  • Providing advice to staff on matters relating to the University’s policies, regulations, and business processes relating to research and research training.

You will need to have:

  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise and knowledge gained in a tertiary environment; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan strategically and ensure that day-to-day operations align with strategic goals.
  • Evidence of ability to show commitment with integrity to the Catholic Identity, Mission and ethos of the University.
  • Understanding of the research environment in a tertiary institution including requirements for ethical conduct of research, Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC), research funding and administration and government initiatives, related to research and research training.

Total remuneration valued to $119,665 total rem - $133,785 total rem pa, including salary component $101,118 - $113,050 pa (Higher Education Worker Level 8), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
