The Facilities Technical Officer, Mechanical, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of mechanical services across the University estate. This role focuses on maintaining a quality experience for all people within the precinct.

In this role you will:

  • Assess, triage, and resolve operational issues as they arise.
  • Coordinate staff and contractors to ensure the successful delivery of all maintenance and operations services.
  • Ensure service delivery is in accordance with technical standards, regulatory requirements, and University policies and procedures.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $95,822 to $107,800 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

  • Experience in Mechanical Services contract operations, systems, administration and auditing, across a broad and complex property portfolio particularly in related areas such as Health and Education sectors, will be highly regarded.
  • A Supervisors Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and/or “ARCtick” Refrigeration license with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education in an areas such as facilities maintenance or mechanical services provision.
  • Outstanding leadership ability, communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working.
  • High level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage several tasks simultaneously to meet competing deadlines, operating effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.
  • Demonstrated experience in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software such as IBM Maximo or similar to manage work orders, asset management and associated complex workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience in Financial System software such as Technology One or similar to manage purchase orders and associated invoices.
