  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working

About You

As the Executive Assistant, you will provide a high level of professional administrative support to the Executive Director, Research Strategy and Services (ED, RSS) within the Research and Innovation Portfolio. You will be responsible for analysing and collating information in order to provide executive support to the ED, RSS. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders and provide support to members of the RSS leadership team when required.

You will also support engagement activity across the Research Strategy and Services team, ensuring the ED, RSS is prepared and informed on relevant matters in a timely manner. This includes researching, preparing and ensuring responses to emails, diary requests and phone calls occur in a timely manner. In providing this support, you will collaborate closely with the R&I portfolio EAs, College and other portfolio EAs and staff within the R&I portfolio.

To be successful in this position, you will have as a minimum:

  • Demonstrated experience in an executive support to a senior executive in a large organisation.

  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills and proven ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive and difficult matters in a professional and diplomatic manner

  • Highly developed organisational and planning skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise own workload and to use sound judgement, managing competing demands and deadlines and deliver high quality outcomes

  • High level communication skills with the ability to compose correspondence, newsletters and brief reports

  • Ability to draw on your internal network and resource and build new effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
