About the role:

As the Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of local and national ACU events such as Open Day, high profile external stakeholder events, virtual events and Honorary Doctorate events and on the day coordination of graduations. Reporting to the National Manager and as a member of the Events team, you'll be responsible for events hosted by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and President (OVCP) and creating internal connections with directorates and departments in order to provide event support. Working with a range of stakeholders from service providers through to high level executive of the university, the successful applicant must maintain a high level of service excellence and a positive and professional attitude.

More specifically the role entails:

  • end to end planning and coordination of events including but not limited to Brisbane and Canberra Open Days, high profile stakeholder events involving members of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and President
  • project coordination working with internal and external service providers, clients and stakeholders, and a willingness to work collaboratively within the Events team and the wider Marketing and External Relations department
  • high level of attention to detail, professionalism and willingness to learn
  • Motivation to develop and nurture internal stakeholder relationships
  • university protocol experience or similar experience in government role with appreciation to learn
  • budget management
  • experience with event management systems such as Cvent/Swoogo and virtual event systems such as Teams webinar.
  • travel where applicable including but not limited to ACU's Canberra campus

The preferred applicant must be flexible with hours and be prepared to work outside of hours when needed and within reason.

  • Total remuneration valued to $117,590 - $127,214 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $99,365 - $107,498 (pro rata) pa (HEW 7), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
  • Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
