We are seeking a highly skilled and practical Enterprise Architecture (EA) Specialist to join our dynamic team. The EA Specialist will be responsible for building and maintaining a holistic view of the university's business capabilities in context of determining future state digital systems and enabling technologies. They will play a pivotal role in driving the development of integrated strategies (blueprints) to achieve desired business outcomes. The successful candidate will ensure that information systems and technologies are future-looking, cost-effective, and strategically aligned. They will also define architectural standards and provide direction for the resolution of complex enterprise architecture issues across the University. More specifically you will:

  • Build and maintain Architecture Blueprints aligned with the university's business strategy.
  • Plan and manage the implementation of the enterprise architecture (EA) roadmap based on business objectives and Digital strategies.
  • Review and evaluate digital technology options against the EA framework and other strategies to maximize value creation while reducing cost and risk.
  • Lead the development of structures, tools, and processes to manage the university's application and technology portfolios, including developing and applying new principles and technologies.
  • Define architectural standards and guardrails that provide guidance for the resolution of complex enterprise architecture issues across the University.
  • Review, maintain and participate in the EA Governance.
  • Analyse and determine the financial impact of solutions.
  • Investigate opportunities to leverage emerging technologies to address current and future needs.

This permanent position is full time a HEW 8 Higher Education Level and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Computer Science or a related field or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge and expertise in enterprise architecture and/or solution architecture including business capability modelling, EA framework development and implementation, and management of applications and technology portfolios
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working.
  • Project management and expertise with demonstrated capacity for planning, delivery and evaluating outcomes to schedules
  • Demonstrated experience in driving process improvement including process mapping, data collection to inform improvement activities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of workplace obligations to, and experience in leading and cultivating workplace practices and behaviours that promote, support, and maintain a safe, healthy, equitable, diverse and respectful workplace, including responding appropriately to adverse incidents, behaviours, issues, reports and the like
  • Desirable Experience

  • TOGAF certified.
  • ArchiMate experience
  • Experienced in using EA management tools such as ARIS, Sparx, Orbus iServer, etc.
