The specialist team at Curtin Student Success provide services, support, and extracurricular programs to facilitate the leadership, career and employability development, and community mindedness of Curtin students and graduates.  

Your new role 

The Manager, Employability Partnerships is responsible for leading the team to support the enhancement of Curtin’s student’s employability development and employment outcomes. The Manager will lead the delivery of student, employer and community volunteering engagement activities and programs.  

The position will foster and enhance relationships across the university to support the implementation of strategies and also seek out opportunities for income generation activities, and sponsorship providing the support to incubate and pilot initiatives. The position will report to and work closely with the Deputy Director Student Experience (Student Success) as well as Team Leaders across Student Success.
Responsibilities include: 

  • Develop strategies to manage, sustain, nurture and grow collaborative partnership opportunities with employers for the purpose of securing employment and work opportunities for Curtin students and graduates. 
  • Work with internal and external partners to explore and develop business opportunities to maximise income generation and funding for the department, including grant applications and sponsorship packages. 
  • Lead the planning, development and implementation of strategies and procedures to maximise the success of all employability, employer engagement and community/volunteering engagement activities across the University (including communications, reporting, events and systems management). 
  • Lead and manage the effective operation of the Employability Partnerships team by providing leadership and guidance to staff and ensuring the delivery ongoing service improvement. 
  • Manage effective relationships with key strategic internal and external stakeholders ensuring, opportunities for collaboration are maximised and employment and employability strategies are implemented effectively. 
  • Prepare grant applications and sponsorship packages, working with internal and external partners to explore and develop business opportunities to maximise income generation and funding and deliver ongoing service improvement for the department.

We are looking for someone with 

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive management experience and proven management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. 
  • Highly developed business development skills with the ability to identify opportunities for income generation and strategic partnerships. 
  • Proven capability in successful relationship management with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, developing, guiding and motivating staff and managing staff and budget resources. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex projects and ability to effect change management across a range of applications. 
  • Proven ability to develop and implement processes and strategies to ensure high quality effective program and service outcomes. 
  • Proven capability in successful relationship management with the ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
