About the opportunity

We are seeking to appoint an Educational Designer as part of Digital Futures in the Academic Division to support the College of Arts, Law and Education.

The Educational Designer will provide college-wide support to academic staff to enable the design and delivery of effective blended, hybrid and online learning environments.

What you’ll do:

  • Work as a team member to provide educational design support to academic staff. This includes timely support for the uptake, design, development, delivery and evaluation of learning technologies, resources and pedagogies in blended, hybrid and online environments.
  • Develop the digital and pedagogical capabilities of academic staff to enable them to achieve their learning and teaching goals.
  • Maintain and communicate your knowledge of current best practice in learning and teaching, particularly in relation to Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) disruption.
  • Organise and facilitate events, such as workshops, related to educational design and development.
  • Lead and/or participate in technology-enhanced learning and teaching projects, including undertaking project management.

­What we’re looking for:

  • A relevant degree with substantial experience in Educational Design or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • The demonstrated ability to apply contemporary pedagogy and curriculum design theory, with evidence of successfully supporting academic staff in the design, development, delivery and review of units and courses.
  • Experience in training academic staff in groups and individually, with demonstrated ability to promote engagement, achievement and innovation in the use of educational technologies.
  • Proven ability and experience in using a range of technologies including learning platforms and software for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of blended, hybrid and online learning environments to support student learning.
  • Awareness of the current research and practices related to the use of GenAI in higher education, and a demonstrated ability to apply GenAI tools to improve productivity, assurance of learning, learning outcomes and student experience.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $123,548 comprising base salary within the range of $96,071 to $105,597 plus 17% superannuation.
