  • Base Salary $95,860 - $103,341 p.a. (HEO6) + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is currently seeking an experienced Education Support Officer to provide a broad range of education, administrative and operational support to Academic and Teaching staff to meet the educational support needs for the School of Project Management . As part of this role, you will provide high-level administrative and project support including preparing documents, responding to complex queries, exploring matters, and sourcing solutions for Academic and Teaching staff.

This is a hybrid role that requires you to work in the office for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • liaise and establish effective working relationships with key staff to ensure that the School’s education support, learning and teaching priorities and needs are effectively met

  • gather and analyse statistical data in preparation of reports for the work area to aid in ongoing operational planning processes

  • work collaboratively with education staff at the Faculty layer to ensure processes are streamlined and consistent across Schools

  • utilise a number of systems (SharePoint, Canvas, Power BI, Sydney Student, etc.) on a daily basis to support and communicate with staff.

  • manage general and school-specific administrative services and operational support

  • manage communications and relationships with academics and teaching staff across the School

  • undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.

  • effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement

  • excellent time and workload management skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes

  • well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills

  • experience delivering education programmes, preferably in a tertiary education environment

  • experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems together with sound understanding of timetabling/rostering of student activities

  • extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures and administrative processes within a tertiary environment.
