Why The Role Matters:

The Education Content Developer plays a key role within Arts, Design & Architecture supporting and current and future education innovation projects. The role entails supporting the Education Excellence Leadership team and working with ADA academics and other professional staff to provide advice and technical support on the design, creation, evaluation, and development of engaging educational content for professional learning experiences, with a focus on high-profile Language Services projects. The role reports to the ADA Educational Development Manager, supports the ADA Education Quality Manager (Language Services Project) and the ADA Short Course and Lifelong Learning Manager, and has no direct reports

Accountabilities:

  • Assist with the design, development, and enhancement of designated programs, courses, and lifelong learning offerings in line with identified strategic and operational priorities and initiatives.
  • Ensure specific learning outcomes are supported through engaging face-to-face, blended, or virtual learning environments, in collaboration with project staff and external, professional stakeholders.
  • Support stakeholders with the development of educational content and practices that are consistent with University quality and standards, ensuring that offerings are developed and viable as pathways to UNSW award courses as identified (e.g., Diploma of Languages).
  • Contribute to the design and facilitation of professional development activities, self-directed training and additional high quality support material in a diverse range of modes to support academic and professional staff.
  • Support the development of staff capabilities to design and deliver high quality digitally enabled learning and teaching.
  • Build capability for blended and online learning through piloting and trialling new technologies and pedagogies, whilst maintaining current knowledge in the global digital and technology-based learning trends.
  • Provide pro active and solution focussed expert advice and contribute to the co-design of future initiatives within the designated projects.

Skills and Experience: 

To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and experience working with the design and development of academic programs and courses and/or any combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in development contribution to curriculum/program/course design and digital content/resources, including web-based learning management systems.
  • High-level problem-solving skills and ability to exercise initiative and to be adaptive and innovative in developing and pursuing pedagogical solutions; together with a service orientation and with a “clientcustomer” focus.
  • Current technical knowledge and operational understanding of TELT platforms and tools.
  • An understanding of key learning theories and pedagogical practices in relation to emerging educational technologies and/or digital transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an academic learning & teaching environment or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain effective collaborative professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
