• From $104,726 - $113,545 (HEW Level 7), plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading.

THE ROLE

The eLearning Librarian is a key member of the Digital Literacies Programs team (Academic Library Services). In this role you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery and development of high-quality digital resources to support the Library's information and digital literacies programs. You will also provide technical and pedagogical advice in the creation and management of engaging, reusable learning objects and activities that build skill development and promote lifelong learning.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Apply knowledge of instructional design and eLearning principles and best practice to inform the development and evaluation of online educational material and tools within the Library's suite of services and products, including learning objects, modules, interactive components, tutorials, and webinars 

  • Coordinate, in partnership with key stakeholders, the planning, delivery and evaluation of the Library's information and digital literacy resources, programs and services 

  • Coordinate,develop, maintain and ensure quality assurance of online (Tier 0) self- help resources and platforms and transition initiatives ensuring Library’s resources are current, engaging, and compliant with style and copyright requirements. 

  • Provide practical and technical advice on the storage and management of learning resources in the Library’s learning objects repository and showcase, including the use of metadata to facilitate retrieval and promote re-usability 

  • Build and manage relationships with Faculties, learning designers, and learning skills advisors to ensure Library responsiveness to students’ information and digital literacies need 

  • Develop and deliver relevant procedures, guides and Library staff training resources to develop the capability of Library staff 

  • Identify and report on emerging educational technologies, key trends or issues, and opportunities for improving the delivery of the Library’s information and digital literacy and research skills support services. 

  • Ensure the collection and analysis of information and digital literacy related data for reporting and quality assurance 

  • Ensure processes and systems maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations

About You 

You will bring your knowledge of instructional design, eLearning principles and best practice to inform the development and management of Library’s online educational material and tools.

Your experience with design software and emerging educational technologies for online learning such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Camtasia, will be essential in developing and managing the Library’s learning objects, videos, tutorials and online self-help resources. You will be able to demonstrate the skills and experience required to oversee the use of systems and productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, Sharepoint and Springshare LibGuides in the storage and showcasing of digital resources.

Your strong skills in training and educational design will also contribute to the ongoing development of Library staff digital capabilities.

You have experience in working collaboratively with colleagues, academics and educators with excellent skills in building and in managing complex partnerships, including effective communication. Through this you will be able to demonstrate successful coordination, implementation and evaluation of projects, services and products to meet identified information and skills support needs.

Selection Criteria

  • Degree in a relevant discipline such as information management, education, or educational design, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, qualifications and training.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with hybrid, blended and online pedagogies for creating innovative, reusable and scalable learning objects, in a higher education context.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience with design software for online learning, such as Adobe Creative cloud, Articulate 360, TechSmith Camtasia or similar.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with relevant systems used to manage learning content including Moodle, LibGuides, SharePoint.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of relevant projects and/or initiatives.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in building and successfully managing partnerships with stakeholders and working collaboratively with users and across teams.

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to write and present instructional materials
