Lead the delivery of information & communication technology services to Macquarie University’s health enterprise.
• A competitive salary package commensurate with skills and experience will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
• Full-time, fixed term for 5 years at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde.
• Work with a strong collaborative IT team, hybrid working arrangement.

THE ROLE

Macquarie University is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Director, Information Technology to lead the delivery of information and communication technology services to Macquarie University Hospital, MQ Health clinics and other business units that support the vision, purpose, and objectives of MQ Health.

In this position, you will deliver an ICT offering that demonstrably supports the strategic goals and needs of Macquarie University Hospital and ambulatory clinics; working as part of the University’s central IT function to shape MQ Health’s information architecture, enhancing user engagement, and improving productivity.

About You
The successful candidate will be a transformational leader with superior interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building a high performance, efficient, skilled and energetic team with a strong service-orientation in a complex, critical environment.

You will have comprehensive knowledge of contemporary enterprise infrastructure platforms as well as knowledge and experience with operating systems and software platforms critical to a digital hospital environment.

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and an equivalent level of knowledge gained through education, training and/or experience.
  • Experience working with Digital Health in a public or private hospital setting, including deep expertise in Electronic Medical Records, interoperability and clinical users.
  • Experience in clinical engagement, healthcare governance and development of digital strategies to support patients, clinicians, staff and strategic objectives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the architectural and operational challenges of ICT in a health environment and an appreciation of current industry trends and developments.
  • Experience developing an annual plan and budget for ICT operations, projects and capital investment.
  • A track record in the management of information technology and information systems used to support an efficient, secure, safe working environment for hospitals, clinics, and health organisations.
  • Demonstrated transformational leader, with experience building a high-performance, efficient and skilled team with a strong service-orientation in a complex, critical environment.
