The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) Portfolio at Monash University where you will be central to building global engagement.

Reporting to the Vice President (International Engagement), as the Director, ASEAN, Pacific and US you will lead the development of Monash’s strategy, and key relationships and partnerships with ASEAN and Pacific nations, and the US (as well as other North and South American countries). Through a deep understanding of regional priorities and challenges for higher education partnerships and your exceptional interpersonal skills, you will foster strategic partnerships. You will also work closely with the leadership of Monash University Malaysia and Monash University Indonesia in the development of strategic plans and provision of advice to senior Monash leaders on key strategic and operational matters.

Essential to this role will be extensive experience and expertise in country strategy development, portfolio planning, and institutional growth strategies.

The successful candidate will have significant demonstrable knowledge of international education issues, particularly with regard to ASEAN, with an understanding of current trends and issues in the internationalisation of higher education. In addition, the successful candidate will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. You will be expected to develop effective relationships with stakeholders within the University, government and business sectors and form strong connections with representatives in the international arena.
