About the position

The Alumni and Advancement Office is responsible for philanthropic fundraising and engagement with La Trobe University’s alumni community of over 250,000 alumni and donors. The Alumni and Advancement Office is an outwardly facing unit of the University and engagement with stakeholders is a major element of most activities undertaken.

This role will create digital content to showcase and promote the achievements of alumni, highlight the innovative work of the University to our communities and share impact stories about the power of philanthropy. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the marketing and communications component of the AAO transition to a new CRM - Blackbaud
  • Generating high-quality, effective digital content that will resonate with alumni and/or donor audiences (both video and written)
  • Uploading content to the La Trobe website (using CMS)
  • Day-to-day management of alumni specific social media channels (currently LinkedIn), including content creation and scheduling, and community management.
  • Producing targeted and engaging e-newsletters, and sending via Campaign Monitor on a daily/weekly basis
  • Monitoring, maintaining, analysing and reporting on content and channel performance.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Campaign Monitor Software and/or Blackbaud.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated customer service.
  • Excellent copy writing skills, with the ability to adapt communication to a variety of channels and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of social media for business and online community management (particularly LinkedIn).
  • Demonstrated competence using the Microsoft Office software suite (specifically MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel.
