About the Portfolio

The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.

The Portfolio incorporates the following business units:  Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.

The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups.  The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe.  Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.

The Information Technology Services (ITS) function provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. The Role

The Delivery Lead - Digital Solutions is responsible for end-to-end technology delivery in a complex cross-functional education and enterprise environment. The position ensures resources and capabilities are effectively aligned to deliver on identified initiatives. It prioritises, plans, budgets, and coordinates initiative delivery, working with varied stakeholders and cross-functional technology and business teams, to collaboratively drive the delivery of initiatives that will have a positive impact on the organisation.

The position requires extensive experience and expertise to lead and assist the team in negotiating and resolving technical and design issues throughout initiative delivery, to provide executive reporting and dashboards, and to lead discovery and documentation activities.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive demonstrated experience in leading the delivery of IT initiatives and programs, with multiple concurrent streams and varied technologies.
  • Lead the delivery of initiatives assigned to the team, working under the direction of the Enterprise Technical Lead or senior management, mentoring team members, ensuring quality in delivery through the application of agreed processes, and delivering complete and accurate documentation.
  • Lead and undertake end-to-end technology delivery, including but not limited to discovery, design, development, implementation, documentation, and budgeting in a complex cross-functional education and enterprise environment.
  • Manage, influence, negotiate with, and maintain effective relationships with varied technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and lead the initiative lifecycle, through identifying new opportunities, prioritisation, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and estimation.
  • Undertake specific high-level technical tasks in coordinating the deployment, support, upgrades, and maintenance of applications as directed.
  • Strong consulting background and understanding of the application of technologies within the education sector.
  • Highly developed communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships, particularly with senior management and stakeholders, internal and external, and to facilitate the integration of internal and external procedures and requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in resource capacity planning, forecasting, and Agile ways of working.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic support and advice, work independently as well as a productive team member, project leader or mentor, to achieve objectives operating within complex organisational structures.
  • Experience in preparing high-quality documentation, project artifacts, operational readiness documentation, and presentations.
  • Experience in multi-stream release management activities such as scheduling, roadmaps, demand management, change management, and prioritisation.
  • Ability to provide after-hours support as required.
