About the opportunity 


 


The Prospect and Data Analyst will support the Manager, Lead Nurture and Conversion, with the implementation of the Sydney Future Students lead nurture and conversion plan across international and domestic markets through the delivery of data, analysis and business insights into the prospective student (customer) lifecycle. 


 


The Prospect and Data Analyst will collate and analyse data and draft reports for internal business processes and external regulatory reporting. The Prospect and Data Analyst will support the collation, distribution and management of lead lists, including preparing all data sets for electronic, direct mail and student recruitment activities and communications. The successful candidate will ensure the lead data is as clean and accurate as possible, utilising the available tools and platforms to maintain the data and adhering to internal and external data handling and privacy policies. 


 


The Prospect and Data Analyst should have practical experience using a Customer Relationship Management platform, preferably Salesforce, to track communication with potential students. The Analyst will leverage the data to analyse customer insights that the Manager, Lead Nurture and Conversion will use to create an effective customer journey, direct communication campaigns, and design conversion tactics efficiently.  


 


The Analyst is responsible for preparing monthly campaign reports and sharing data-driven insights with the Lead Nurture and Conversion Manager and Director of Faculty Partnerships and Recruitment Services. This is crucial for shaping the communication strategy of Sydney Future Students. Also, the Analyst should create monthly reports that the Manager, Lead Nurture and Conversion can share with the domestic and international teams to help in decision-making for their recruitment efforts in-market 


 


Working alongside the Manager, Lead Nurture and Conversion, the Prospect and Data Analyst will advise the Director, Faculty Partnerships and Recruitment Services on key data quality and maintenance issues and recommend new data collection processes and platforms that would support improved analysis capability and ensure best practice data handling and adherence with privacy regulations. 


 


The Prospect and Data Analyst will collaborate with colleagues across Sydney Future Students to build surveys for prospective students in Qualtrics and other survey software to gather and analyse consumer behaviour and insights. Assisting the Manager and senior leadership team in Sydney Future Students, the Analyst will provide accurate and timely information to support planning processes for peak periods where data and insights into prospective student behaviour and engagement throughout the customer journey cycle are required. 


 


You will be responsible for: 


 


  • actively contributing to executing the Sydney Future Students' lead nurture and conversion plan across domestic and international markets 

  • managing Salesforce leads and other source data sets, curating precise lists for targeted email and SMS campaigns, and monitoring engagement and performance metrics 

  • compiling and organising lead lists for various channels, including SMS, email, and phone calls, ensuring meticulous dataset preparation 

  • designing surveys for prospective students, focusing on gathering and analysing consumer behaviour and insights 

  • monitoring and assessing direct communications (email, SMS and phone) campaign performance, providing insights for continuous improvement 

  • maintaining meticulous documentation of Salesforce and other data handling processes, configurations, and campaign performance for knowledge sharing 

  • systematically collecting and analysing data, generating regular reports for internal processes and external regulatory reporting 

  • playing a key role in supporting the University of Sydney in achieving student recruitment targets 

  • collaborating with the admissions team to understand key dates, exclusions and nuances with data 

  • maintaining data integrity and complying with privacy laws requiring ethical data collection, storage, and distribution practices, including managing unsubscribe lists

  • a deep understanding of lead management in a Customer Relationship Management platform, preferably Salesforce  

  • high-level reporting and insight gathering skills that will help inform decision making in Sydney Future Students  

  • excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complicated data issues or insights to stakeholders with less CRM/Salesforce platform experience 

  • proven ability to segment and analyse large datasets and capacity to identify and reconcile conflicting data 


  • strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and an ability to think laterally when working on complex data problems across interrelated planning and reporting issues 

  • strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods 

  • excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write clear, concise technical and procedural documentation 

  • excellent stakeholder management skills, including well-developed relationship building and communication expertise 

  • tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work experience, preferably in a relevant discipline such as statistical analysis or business analytics 

  • demonstrated experience analysing, manipulating and cleaning data in preparation for loading into systems for reporting or direct communications 

  • previous experience in the use of current tools and software for business intelligence 

  • experience in current BI or statistical technologies (SPSS, SAS, SQL, Hyperion, OBIEE, Tableau, PowerBi etc.)
