  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working

About the role

As Coordinator, Industry Events, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading strategic and key industry and student engagement events within the STEM College and University. This will include liaison with industry partners, logistical support for event planning and delivery, regular reporting and maintenance of databases. You will also contribute to continuous improvement within the team and foster a collaborative team culture, proactively supporting team members in busier periods and acting as a first point of contact for administrative queries. 

This role may occasionally be required to work non-standard hours and leave restrictions may apply during peak periods. 

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Demonstrated high level communication, relationship building and negotiation skills with the ability to work collegiately with academic and professional staff, students, and external clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a demanding high-volume environment with excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance and process improvement.

  • Demonstrated end-to-end high level project planning and management skills as demonstrated by the successful delivery of major events including planning, budgeting, resource management and evaluation procedures.

  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to think creatively and exercise judgement in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to conceptualise and design assets that are brand compliant.

  • Commitment to quality service delivery and sensitivity regarding confidential communications.

  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in computer software packages including MS365, Adobe Creative Cloud and electronic direct mailing services with accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to learn new technical skills.
