About the Role

As the Consultant: People Data and Systems you will maintain People Systems, processes, e-forms and workflows to enable and support high-quality services to end-users. You will work closely with People, Data and Systems team members and the broader People, Talent and Culture (PTC) team to support the maintenance and enhancement of the University’s Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) to enhance individual and organisational performance and continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide systems support for all HRIS, ensuring they are operating at their full potential
  • Design and implement solutions for system issues and process improvements
  • Lead system upgrades and enhancements including system patches and fixes, developing test plans, complex test scripts and identifying issues
  • Lead business process improvements, analyse and evaluate configuration options and business procedures
  • Provide high quality and reliable advice and assistance relating to the HRIS to staff across the University
  • Establish positive working relationship across the University and with external stakeholders


Essential Skills and Experience

  • A tertiary degree in human resources or information management with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
  • Proven experience in the support functions of an HRIS
  • Systems and analytical skills with ability to understand operational needs and ensure they are supported by processes that enhance the experience of the end-user
  • Excellent planning and organising skills, including an understanding of project management concepts
  • Ability to communicate with purpose and impact using well-developed communication skills to deliver high-level client service
  • An understanding of HR issues and their implications when incorporating the use of an HRIS
