Why your Role Matters
Joining our newly created HR Quality and Compliance function, this role will be integral in driving a robust analysis of existing HR processes to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.

As Compliance Analyst you’ll offer technical advice on the practical implementation of audit methodologies and support the implementation of effective compliance practices. Taking a big picture approach, you will utilise workforce data to actively monitor controls on a range of compliance matters to proactively mitigate areas of risk. Your work will focus on driving an ongoing commitment to compliance that seamlessly integrates into stakeholders’ business as usual practices. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Acting as a subject matter expert across risk and audit.
  • Building and maintaining a holistic compliance framework that aligns with HR’s compliance and assurance priorities.
  • Conducting regular audits and assessments of HR processes and procedures to identify and resolve potential compliance issues.
  • Supporting the design of mitigation efforts and actively monitor controls
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to create, generate and utilise fit for purpose reports.
  • Developing University-wide understanding of responsibilities and implementation of effective practices.

Reporting to the Head of HR Quality and Compliance, you will be joining the team who proactively manage compliance assurance across HR systems and processes, with a key focus to continuously improve their application and usability.

Who you are: A confident risk and audit subject matter expert who holds the ability to balance the universities compliance requirements whilst considering business operational needs, you have:

  • Proven qualifications and/ or experience as a Compliance Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of workplace legislation and regulations (in a university and/ or HR environment is desirable).
  • Ability to act as a subject matter expert across risks and controls in regulated environment.
  • Confidence in leading and/ or implementing organisation wide projects and business improvements.
  • Ability to build and fostering effective working relationships and provide trusted compliance related advice and guidance.
  • High level communication skills with ability to influence and engage.
  • A positive and constructive approach to problem solving
  • Experience in utilising, interpreting and applying data to drive informed decisions.
