  • Base salary range: $112,114 – $122,544 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the team
Building and growing its research capability is a strategic priority of the University providing a vital contribution to both the University and WA community. Key to this endeavour are partnerships with industry and government that enhance the financial position, impact and reputation of UWA and the research reputation of WA. The Office of Industry and Commercial Development is responsible for the commercialisation goals at UWA across a wide array of portfolios including engineering, agriculture, health, defence, space, oceans, data, energy and resources. Key to commercialisation success are the partnerships with industry and government.

Reports to: Senior Commercialisation Manager

About the opportunity
As the Commercialisation Manager, you will work closely with researchers and internal stakeholders to identify, protect, develop, and commercialise IP created at the University, particularly focusing on the engineering and physical science sectors. You will manage a portfolio of IP, foster relationships with researchers, assist with the commercialization of IP through licenses, patents, or spinouts, and engage with external industry to promote UWA's research capabilities.

About you
You should have experience in research commercialisation or relevant commercial experience in the industry. A tertiary qualification in a physical science or engineering-related discipline is desirable. Experience with start-up companies or investment portfolio management, along with knowledge of funding programs available to facilitate commercialisation and industry development, is also desirable.
