The Role
The successful candidate will contribute to the expansion and delivery of the Children’s University, a pre-access equity-based outreach program to relevant regional South West schools. As such the role is situated at ECU’s Bunbury campus. 

The role will entail working within a team to contribute to the expansion and delivery of the Children’s University program to relevant regional south west schools. . You will act as the key liaison for the program in the south west and implement program objectives involving the delivery of school-based workshops and information sessions, community-based activities, and on-campus events. The role will also provide promotional, administration and event support, with a particular focus on tailoring outreach efforts for the targeted demographic, engaging the next generation of learners and encouraging study more broadly at ECU.

The successful applicant will also be required to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check and hold a current C Class driver’s licence.

Key criteria

  • Completion of a relevant degree (or working towards) in education or arts based learning or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.
  • Experience in implementing equity based outreach programs and/or community events including administration and database manipulation.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and present information, views and concepts in a concise, understandable and interesting format as relevant to the program.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to south west regional locations 


Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a casual suitably experienced and motivated Outreach Officer to join an existing team within the School of Education to support the expansion of the Children’s University program for the south west region. This program engages directly with local schools, families, cultural institutions and community organisations to provide a framework to nurture aspirations, encourage children to discover new passions, visit new places and develop new skills.

Benefits and Remuneration
This casual position ending 20 December 2024, attracts remuneration as per the ECU Enterprise Agreement plus 11% University superannuation contribution.
