An exciting opportunity exists in the Strategic Procurement team for candidates seeking core experience in managing end to end procurement activities as a Category Specialist within the newly established ProcureRight Desk.
• From $104,726 to $113,545 (HEW Level 7), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.
• Full time continuing role. Based at Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde.
• High performing team. Hybrid working arrangement.

THE ROLE

The Role

To provide advisory on and end-to-end management of procurement projects, which includes but is not limited to triaging of activities, tender development and management, contract negotiations; this role will form part of the newly set up University procurement fulfillment centre, ProcureRight (internal University framework) desk.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage end-to-end procurement events on behalf of internal customers, including tender and contracting strategy development, supplier evaluation, contract negotiations and execution.
  • Provide advisory services for all procurement activities at the University, acting as the first point of contact for enquiries from internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Gather market intelligence and provide expertise on supplier and market sector conditions and supplier/contractor landscape.
  • Collate and analyse information and make recommendations to inform decision making and strategy direction for continuous improvements of the University's procurement and sourcing activities.
  • Drive compliance to preferred supplier program.
  • Work towards in drive savings through process efficiencies and compliance.
  • Build and manage relationships via key internal and external stakeholders to enhance awareness and knowledge of the various procurement and purchasing frameworks.
  • Act as the main University contact officer for most of the tendering activities.

  • Bachelor degree (or working towards a degree) or equivalent in any discipline.
  • Experience minimum 2-5 years in procurement, contract management, category management, purchasing, finance, accounting, law or related disciplines.
  • Developed project management skills and ability to run multiple concurrent project without compromising on quality.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of the applications of procurement processes, framework and functionality across complex/ large organisations through a matrix and hierarchical structures.
  • Experience and understanding of procurement, sourcing and purchasing processes and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing solutions though the development of digital applications.
  • Experience working in teams to deliver project outcomes and cost and time sensitive environments.
  • Experience in managing stakeholders and being a trusted advisor.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
