About the Role:

Student Advising Assistant - Casual plays a pivotal role in supporting our students at Victoria University. As the first point of contact for current and future student enquiries, you will be supporting our students to navigate university systems and processes, their personal and academic goals, and setting them up to get the most out of their student experience.  

In this role you will work closely with our Advisory teams, Student Administration and college staff to support domestic, international, TAFE and higher education students. 

This is a casual position at a HEP Level 4 classification ($42.59 per hour) approximately 20 hours per week until December 2024. Our Service centres, from which Student Advisor Assistant is supposed to work, are across multiple campuses including: Footscray Park, Footscray Nicholson, City Tower, St Albans, Sunshine and Werribee.

About the person:

  • Has a customer service mindset and wants to make a positive difference to the lives of our students 
  • Has experience in customer service roles and record management systems (preferably in student services)
  • Has the ability to collaborate and work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver exemplary student support
  • Keeps a level head in busy and sometimes stressful situations
  • proactively identified and resolves issues where possible and appropriately escalates where necessary 
  • Can equally work autonomously and collaboratively as needed 

Duties:

An example of duties you may perform include:

  • Providing accurate, timely and documented advice to potential and current students on a range of general matters including course information, administration, admissions, enrolment fees and on using student systems 
  • Resolving first level student enquiries efficiently and effectively and escalate where appropriate to Student Advisors 
  • Providing student service to the performance and quality standards of Student Services Customer Service Framework and the Student Advising Model
