  • Provides overall administrative and clerical duties as guided by the school manager and director (South West Academic Centre)
  • Base salary starting at $77,144.00 + 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The South West Academic Centre, part of the Broken Hill University Department of Rural Health, supports students from a range of health disciplines to undertake their placements in the Wentworth and Balranald Shires and parts of North West Victoria.

Our work is expanding, and we are seeking a Campus Support Officer to provide general administrative and clerical duties. Ensuring tasks are completed in an efficient and effective manner. The incumbent will organise and maintain records, act as the initial point of contact within the work area and utilise judgement and procedural knowledge to organise the flow of information. Your role will involve travelling and visiting other rural campuses.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provides general administration support as guided by the School Manager and Director (South West Academic Centre)
  • manage the purchasing of required resources for the Centre
  • assist with general support for students on placement experience in the region
  • conduct regular inspections of the facilities, ensuring maintenance and repairs are promptly addressed
  • facilitate room bookings and setups for various activities, ensuring timely arrangements and breakdowns
  • coordinate equipment loans and returns and maintain the asset register.
  • administer reporting processes, maintain accurate data within university systems, and contribute to ensuring the team's compliance with standard regulations.

About you

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • experience in the provision of excellent customer service, together with well-developed written and verbal communications skills within a strong customer service focused environment
  • experience with administrative tasks and communications in various formats, such as organising meetings, and preparation and presentation of summaries and reports.
  • sound verbal and written communication skills, with experience in handling enquiries and providing excellent customer service
  • sound time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail accuracy
  • developed administrative and MS Office skills 
  • apply problem solving skills and work independently and collaborate as part of a team.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
