About the team

The Human Resources (HR) function plays a critical role managing and developing UWA’s academic and professional workforce, organisational capability and culture to ensure UWA’s success and sustainable growth. The overarching role of HR is to align UWA’s human resources with its strategic objectives, cultivate a positive work environment and ensure UWA staff have access to the necessary support, services and resources to thrive in their roles.

A project team, which is comprised of resources from both HR and IT, has been established to undertake significant HR system and process changes designed to digitise and streamline many of the University’s HR processes. This role will will be a key member of this project team.

About the opportunity

This is a hybrid position which will blend both Business Analyst and Change Analyst responsibilities.

From a Business Analyst perspective, you will gather and document business requirements both within HR and other areas of the University.  You will also contribute to changes and solution designs that will improve the delivery of HR services and be involved in ensuring solutions are well tested and effectively deployed.

From a Change Analyst perspective, you will lead the development and delivery of IT business readiness, new system/process training, stakeholder engagement and communications of HR system and process changes. You will also focus on ensuring the successful adoption of those changes.  This will require you to work closely with HR, IT and a wide variety of stakeholders across the University.

About you

Your expertise is expected to be stronger either as a Business Analyst, or as a Change Analyst/Change Manager. However, you will possess experience in both areas. Experience delivering solutions in the domain of corporate services would support your success in this role, as would experience leveraging resources in teams outside your own (both internal and external) to achieve project objectives.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
  • Substantial demonstrated experience with business requirements analysis, elicitation, testing and verification
  • Significant business writing experience, including writing project documentation, including experience writing and issuing communications concerning system and process changes 
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate, in business terms, system-based business processes, including extensive experience mapping business processes 
  • Demonstrated experience developing and deploying training for new technology and associated processes 
  • An understanding of HR and payroll systems and processes would be highly desirable
