About the Role 
Are you a passionate and innovative leader in the field of Nursing and Allied Health? We are seeking an Associate Professor to lead and enhance the quality of nurse education and research at Swinburne University. In this role, you will collaborate with the Discipline Lead, Course Director, and academic colleagues across the school and the health sector to achieve these objectives.

As an Associate Professor, you will contribute to the leadership, development and review of Nursing and Allied Health courses in the department using blended models of unit delivery; participate in the administration and ongoing curriculum development of units offered by the discipline; and progress research and scholarship aligned to the strategic direction of the school. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of our programs and advancing research and scholarship aligned with our strategic direction.

With a passion to lead, innovate and embrace diversity the Associate Professor will engage in supporting junior staff, and focus on enriching the opportunities of colleagues and students in the delivery of practice-based education and research within the discipline. You will carry out educational and curriculum development of both online and on campus learning materials and assessments in nursing as well as facilitate the overall coordination of units, including teaching and marking assessments.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated capacity to build and lead research teams and partnerships and in practice research supervision to achieve high impact research outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching including a record of co-ordination, teaching and curriculum development and teaching in nurse education.
  • Experience with online learning and teaching methods in nursing education including creation or use of leading edge/best practice delivery methods such as flexible delivery formats.
  • Proven clinical experience in nursing or health care.
  • Demonstrated track record of attracting research funding and established research track record
  • A high degree of organisational and administrative skills and capacity to contribute to management of course and program delivery.

Qualifications
  • A Doctorate qualification appropriate to the discipline.
  • Higher education teaching qualification.
  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or equivalent Health Professional qualifications/credentials.
