  • Three full-time continuing academic Identified positions, located at the Camperdown campus in the Faculty of Science and at any of the academic school or rural and metropolitan clinical school locations in the Faculty of Medicine and Health

  • Exciting teaching and research opportunities within the University of Sydney in the Schools of Psychology (Level A/B) and Sydney School of Public Health (Level B), and Sydney Medical School (Level C)

  • Base Salary Level A/B/C $101,507 p.a. - $167,221 p.a., (pro-rata, if applicable), + 17% superannuation

You will make a significant contribution to teaching and learning design, delivery, and evaluation in your specialised field while you also continue to build substantial research contribution, expertise, connections and impact. As part of this role, you will also contribute to the governance, leadership, and engagement work of your employing school.

The appointee to this role will engage with professional development and build the capability to lead change and improve teaching and research at the University. 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • design and engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the University’s expectations and standards for education

  • deliver outstanding teaching and learning outcomes for students

  • develop teaching and subject materials under the supervision of more senior academic staff within the school/faculty.

  • through research and scholarly creative work, contribute to knowledge within your discipline or area of expertise

  • develop and refine your research skills

  • maintain quality, standards and excellence in your research activities and output

  • contribute to the governance, leadership, and engagement work in your school.

Associate Lecturer/Lecturer who can demonstrate that they have:

  • evidence of identifying as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander (preferred)

  • knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural competence (preferred)

  • ability to carry out quality research in the relevant discipline

  • deliver high quality teaching that effectively engages students in their learning

  • independently conduct and publish high quality research relevant to the School’s existing strengths

  • a track record of submitting applications for funding for educational research and/or areas relevant to Coaching Psychology 

  • provided outstanding research training (e.g. honours/PhD)

  • high quality communication and organisational skills

  • contributed to governance, leadership, and engagement within the School/University

  • worked collaboratively with other staff, including professional staff, and foster principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.

Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Research) who, in addition to above, can demonstrate they have:

  • a record of excellent teaching, learning, and assessment practice in a tertiary environment, as evidenced through student and supervisor feedback

  • a higher degree (PhD) in a relevant field.

  • a track record of high-quality research outputs appropriate to the discipline that is on an upward trajectory

  • a high level of written and verbal communication skills

  • the ability to submit applications for competitive, external funding to support their research

  • trained and mentored junior staff to deliver high quality teaching and research

  • the demonstrated ability to lead high quality research in the relevant discipline

  • evidence of independent research ability

  • proven experience in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives

  • lead initiatives in governance, leadership, and engagement within the School/University.
