  • Base Salary Level A6, $105,350 p.a. + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The Faculty of Science is welcoming applications for an Associate Lecturer in History and Philosophy of Science (Education) to join the team and provide teaching and learning support to the School of History and Philosophy of Science .

Working under the supervision of Prof. Dominic Murphy (Head of School) the successful candidate will be responsible for helping to design, administer and teach the first year units of study in the School of History of Science. The precise mix of responsibilities may vary from unit to unit but will involve both academic and administrative roles. Much of the work may be undertaken remotely but you will need to be available to come to the Camperdown Campus if required.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • assist with syllabus planning and revision

  • conduct and plan tutorials

  • help to build and maintain Unit websites in Canvas

  • assist students to understand course materials and content

  • assist in the design of assignments

  • maintain email lists to update students with relevant information.

About you

  • a PhD in a relevant discipline

  • tutorial experience, either in person or online

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
