We are reducing the overall use of academic casual employment and providing meaningful pathways for casual academic staff to ongoing academic employment through our casual consolidation project.

To be eligible, you must (a) Have casual experience totalling at least two (2) teaching sessions at La Trobe University in the previous two (2) years; (b) Have not held a continuing position in a university in the previous three (3) years.

About the position

  • Develop and Evaluate Curriculum: Utilize an evidence-based approach to shape and assess the effectiveness of learning and teaching initiatives.
  • Engage in High-Quality Teaching: Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions across various modes, including online, blended, and face-to-face.
  • Foster Innovation: Work alongside subject and course coordinators to design and implement innovative curriculum developments, improving the student experience.
  • Contribute to the Community: Play an integral role in knowledge transfer and building relationships within the local and academic community.

The candidate:

  • A visionary with a PhD degree in Construction and Engineering Engineering or related discipline, passionate about teaching and curriculum development.
  • A proven track record of effective teaching methods and innovative initiatives that enhance the student experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic team.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and engagement with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
