Why Your Role Matters:

The Associate Director, Scholarly Communications and Repositories leads library staff in the development and delivery of high-quality library services for researchers, scholarly communications and open access, repository infrastructure, and research reporting.

The Associate Director is a high-level strategic and proactive role that leads the planning and allocation of resources for the unit and identifies opportunities to build networks with stakeholders to deliver innovative Library services.

Who You Are:

Our ideal candidate will provide leadership and expertise in the development of UNSW Library’s scholarly communication and research services. In addition, they will support and drive initiatives to increase the uptake of open access across the University.  

They will lead a team of highly skilled staff in managing and developing research services and infrastructure that will meet the current and future needs of UNSW.

Do you have the following attributes?

  • Proven experience in leadership in planning, implementing and evaluating Library and research services and systems including leading a team in a university or research environment.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating with stakeholders and vendor management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of research processes, scholarly communications and open access, copyright, and higher education environment including policy and funding.
